The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the guidelines for school admissions in the upcoming academic year 2024-25.
These guidelines provide important information regarding the age criteria for admission to various classes.
Age criteria:
It is crucial for parents and guardians to be aware ofCBSE School Admission 2024-2025 guidelines to ensure a smooth admission process for their children. Every CBSE Primary school in Pune follows the age criteria mandated as per CBSE.
- The criteria for any student seeking admission in Class I or Primary is that they should be at least 6 years of age at the time of admission. This is followed by all the CBSE Schools in Pune.
- The criteria for admission to the Upper Primary section or class 6 is that they should be at least 11 years of age at the time of admission.
- The criteria for admission to the Secondary section or class 9 is that they should be at least 14 years of age at the time of admission.
A student seeking admission to any class in a school will be eligible for admission to that Class only if he/she :
(i) has been studying in a School recognized by or affiliated to this Board or any other recognized Board of Secondary Education in India;
(ii) has passed qualifying or equivalent qualifying examination making him eligible for admission to that Class;
(iii) satisfies the requirements of age limits (minimum and maximum) as determined by the State/U. T. Government and applicable to the place where the School is located.
Documents required:
In the process of applying to schools, documents play a crucial role. As the foundation of a student's identity, documents are required by the school. They can also use it to get in touch with parents if the child/children need assistance.
The documents required are
- Birth Certificate / Passport of the child, Residence proof of both permanent and current addresses (Ration Card/ Voter ID-Card/ Utility Bill/ Rent Agreement/ Sale Deed/ Aadhaar Card)
- Photo ID proof of both the parents and child (Aadhaar Card/Passport/Driving License/ Voter ID-Card)
- Caste Certificate- In case of SC/ST/OBC (if applicable).
Fees:
The fee charged is as per the guidelines of fee structure provided by CBSE. Every school may make minor changes in the same based on the facilities being provided by the school to the students.
- The fees for students seeking admission in the Primary section may range from 4k per month to 8k per month depending on the amenities provided by the school.
- The fees for students seeking admission in the Upper Primary-Secondary section may range from 8k per month to 15k per month depending on the amenities provided by the school.
