The Morning Routine
I wake up when the alarm shrieks, forcing myself out of bed. The early morning sun chirps me awake, and the anticipation kicks in. I might be one of the strangest kids, as I love attending school. I mean, I can’t complain—it is The Orbis School after all. Once I’m ready, the bus calls out to me with its cheerful honks, and I get aboard with a mix of excitement and drowsiness on my face.
Welcoming Smiles and Yoga Sessions
When I arrive at school, I am greeted with smiles and greetings from both peers and teachers. It feels like the line between teachers and friends blurs at our school. The day begins with a yoga session, as not all students are as awake as I am. I’m enveloped in an atmosphere of positivity and encouragement, fostering a strong sense of belonging.
Interactive Learning and Open Discussions
Interactive learning sessions start after our arrival, engaging us in collaborative activities that ignite curiosity and creativity. It seems unfair to call these discussions mere ‘classes’—they feel more like open conversations about intellectual topics. Occasionally, the rhythm of lessons is broken by classmates discussing important matters, such as whether a dog can perform a cartwheel. This usually results in the teacher giving us a telling off for disrupting the class.
Artistic Expression and Creative Exploration
In addition to theoretical enlightenment, our teachers assign us side quests, designed to explore our artistic abilities. Lessons in music, dance, and art enhance our ability to express ideas beyond words. It’s not just about learning—we’re encouraged to showcase our unique talents on stage with a competitive spirit.
Sports and Recreation: Maintaining a Balance
Sports are an indispensable part of our daily routine, because, as the saying goes, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” Sometimes, sweating a gallon is just part of the fun. Then comes the lunch break, the most eagerly anticipated time to reconnect with friends. Break time is about re-energising both body and mind in the company of your peers.
Building Friendships Through Group Activities
Group activities are another essential element, focused on bridging social gaps and engaging students in active learning. These interactions not only make school life more enjoyable but also help us develop social skills and a sense of teamwork.
Bidding Farewell and Looking Forward to Tomorrow
As the day draws to a close, we say our goodbyes until tomorrow and come together in a prayer for a better day ahead. Here at The Orbis School, we celebrate learning through discipline, knowledge, creativity, and by building meaningful relationships.
